Learn Move Playground: How to improve playgrounds through participation

While researching for a two week design sprint to answer: How might we encourage children to play outside more?, I encountered this book. It details the design process ran by Vittoria Capresi to create new play spaces at two schools in Cairo, bringing together elementary school students, college architecture students from Cairo & Germany, and designers from Capresi’s studio into a series of workshops and design builds. The book also contains several short essays explaining all things play, childhood development, and city planning resource management. This book became a guiding text for research and fundamentals during my research process for the HCD Sprint.
